Snowboarding at Snow Summit

We hit the slopes today at Snow Summit at 9:00 a.m. It was 22 degrees today but no snowfall. We actually had reservations for lessons at Snow Summit and we pre-purchased lift tickets. We still had to go through a long line for snowboard rentals though. When we were next to be serviced, their computer system went down so we had to wait again. Because the line was so long, I opted to snowboard instead of going to wait in another long line to get skis.

We finally got on the slopes at about 11:30 a.m. We dropped Braden & Logie off at Little Bear School and then Brooke to the Children's Beginner's Boarding School.
After that, I went to my own snowboarding lesson and Cody & Brad went up the lifts to start boarding.

I found snowboarding to be way different than skiing. I butt planted hard a couple of times! I did find it a little easier than skiing but not by much. If only my feet would do what my brain is actually telling it to do, it would make it easier! HA! I would need the whole mountain to myself so I wouldn't run over anyone! I didn't get to go to my afternoon lesson because of the late start, but I seriously don't know if my bones could handle that much more rattling! I still want to take ski lessons but that'll have to wait until another time.

Logie & Braden had fun at Little Bear School. They had two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Logie actually fell asleep in the afternoon class. He just lay down in the snow at the top of the hill and fell asleep! One of the instructors carried him down. It was so cute seeing them snowboard!

Because we got a late start, Brooke had her afternoon lesson at 4:00 p.m. Brooke had lots of times to come down the mountain and with more practice, she'll probably get better at stopping when she wants to. She had so much fun!

Brad & Cody went down the intermediate runs and Cody even went down a black diamond run. That boy is brave because Brad took a detour instead of following Cody.

It was a full day and we REALLY enjoyed it! We left the mountain at about 6:45 p.m. and we are now feeling the aches & pains. We are back at the lodge thawing out and having pizza for dinner. It'll be an early bedtime especially for me & Brad. Please check back for photos/videos.
