Remembering 9/11

Has it been five years already? It doesn't feel like it. The events of five years ago are still fresh in my mind. Even if we live in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, that day had a huge impact. In a way, it connected to what happened at Pearl Harbor 60 years earlier. My DH and I were getting ready for work and my MIL called to tell us to turn on the t.v.--we were under attack. I was frozen in disbelief and our first instincts were to pray. At work, everyone was tuned in to the t.v. or going on-line for the latest information. It seems that everyone I talked to were waiting on word from their loves ones in New York and Pennsylvania. Even being from an island state so far away, the attacks became personal. Today, I remember the sacrifices that were made and will continue to be made to ensure our freedom. God Bless the USA!
